I was impressed.
As a first time user who's always wanted to do her own eyebrows but never had the opportunity to do them the right way, I was impressed with this kit.
At first, I was a little nervous: would the brows come out okay, would they be crooked or lopsided, are my eyebrows the wrong shape to be arched, etc.
But the instructions on the kit are easy enough to follow, and about 30 minutes later, I found that I was pleased with my newly done eyebrows. Hopefully I will be able to get 75 dollars worth of use out of this kit. The tweezers were functional (I remember people complaining about other kits that came with worthless tweezers), and it was nice to be able to choose from 4 different brow shapes.
The only reason I rated this a four instead of a five was that I had no background of comparison. I haven't used any other brow kits before, so for all i know, there's a better, cheaper kit out there. However, I am pleased with the results, so I will still rate this product a solid four stars.
OK, but too expensive
I saw this kit on the Oprah show and thought it might be handy to have. Had a moment of "sticker shock" though when I saw the price.
I have used it every day though, probably because I feel I should get my money's worth from it.
And it does make a big difference to have neat brows. I use it even when I don't wear other make-up.
The stencils are made of a clear flexible plastic. I had tried the sticker type brow stencils a few years ago and did not like those. You get four shapes of stencils, but once you figure out the shape you need, you will only use that one.
I ordered the dark brunette color.(edit: Looked at the color name, I actually have the Medium Ash color) I have very fair skin and almost black brows. The powder colors in the container look way too light, but once on it is a very good match.
The brow gel sets it up when you are done. I've used clear mascara for this same thing for years. And when I buy a new one, I will definitely buy the cheaper clear mascara at the drugstore. Can't see that this product is any better.
The brush is nice. A round mascara type on one end and an angled powder brush on the other end.
The tweezers have a nice weight and are sharp.
The brow highlighter pencil is a very pale pink. Fine on fair skin, but I don't know that it would work well on darker skin. It smudges and blends well though.
All in all, I think it is a nice kit, but way overpriced. You could buy each item separately for much less if you do not care about the "name" on the case.
Yes it's expensive - but it is AWESOME
This is a very nice kit. The stencils are the easiest I've used and, it's hard to describe, but you can actually use the front part of one stencil and the rear of another, to get a perfect set of brows for your face. My brows are not perfectly matched (I don't suppose too many folks have perfectly matched brows), so the variety of front/rear stencils was great. You can also overlap at mid brow, so you can make them shorter or longer as your particular need dictates. Flexibility leads to a very natural brow. I have olive skin and dark brunette hair (currently). I ordered the Brunette kit and the colors were perfect. The brow powder is difficult to describe, too - creamy and easy to blend, but definitely a powder - very nice consistency and coverage with a very natural look.
Tweezers were okay - not sure I really needed another tweezer, but hey, it's right there in the kit, if I do.
The brow highlighter pencil is definitely, well, pink - but, it does a great job of highlighting under the "new brow" and blended just fine, even into my olive complexion.
The brow setting gel is very nice. It sets the brow, but isn't "crunchy" like some of the gels out there.
The entire application is, in a word, flawless. Okay, natural and flawless - I guess that's two words - three, if you count the conjunction. :)
I like things to come "All Together" in a nice little zipper thing, and this does - otherwise, I lose half of everything and am not a happy person.
No question that this is an expensive product - but it works like crazy, comes in a nice kit in a nice little zipper bag and should last for a very, very long time.
I love it and think it's worth every penny.
